Your Role
Are you excited about creating smart electrical designs for complex automated systems? We are looking for an Electrical Project Engineer who enjoys working on international, technically challenging projects.
In this position, you are responsible for the full electrical design of industrial automation systems. You work on everything from power distribution concepts to detailed control schematics. You select and specify the right components, prepare clear technical documentation, and ensure that all designs meet strict quality and safety standards.
A key part of the role is creating system diagrams and network architectures that make use of modern industrial communication technologies such as PROFINET, PROFIBUS, Industrial Ethernet and AS-i. You will prepare complete drawing packages for panel builders and installation teams, including cabling details, layouts, wiring instructions and bills of materials. Your work ensures that manufacturing, installation and commissioning teams can execute their tasks smoothly — from the first connections to the final I/O checks.
You use advanced CAD platforms like EPLAN and AutoCAD to produce consistent, accurate and efficient design documentation. In addition, you contribute to improving engineering workflows, tools and methods across the department.
Your responsibilities
- Create comprehensive electrical designs, including power distribution, control schematics and network layouts.
- Prepare bills of materials, wiring details and installation documentation.
- Develop and maintain industrial network topologies (PROFINET, PROFIBUS, AS-i, Industrial Ethernet).
- Collaborate closely with colleagues in mechanical engineering and controls engineering.
- Support on-site teams during installation, testing and commissioning.
- Help improve CAD standards, templates and design processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar technical discipline.
- Experience with electrical design in an industrial/automation environment.
- Familiarity with industrial networks such as PROFINET, PROFIBUS, AS-i or Industrial Ethernet.
- Knowledge of power distribution principles.
- Proficiency with CAD software (EPLAN, AutoCAD).
- Strong communication skills and good command of English.
- Accurate, structured and proactive way of working.
