Your Role
In this role as a Lead Automation Engineer, you are the technical driving force behind our automation projects and the link between process, technology and software. You make sure each solution does what the customer actually needs and meets a high technical standard.
You'll join an Industrial Automation team that develops tailor-made solutions for customers across a wide range of sectors, working closely with process technologists, software engineers and project managers. The projects range from smart energy systems to sustainable production installations and future-proof process environments, so your work contributes directly to the energy transition.
What You’ll Do
- Analyse complex industrial production processes and translate customer needs into functional designs
- Write functional specifications, software designs, test plans and commissioning documentation
- Develop and deliver automation solutions in Siemens PCS7 and TIA Portal
- Design, simulate and test advanced control solutions before they go live
- Solve complex process and control engineering challenges
- Safeguard technical quality across projects, from first design to commissioning
- Coach fellow engineers on technical content and drive knowledge sharing and standardisation within the team
Requirements
What You Bring
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, industrial automation, energy engineering, process engineering or a related field
- Extensive experience with Siemens PCS7, ideally combined with knowledge of TIA Portal
- Knowledge of industrial production processes and process technology
- Experience translating process challenges into functional designs and automation software, and analysing and solving them
- Experience writing functional specifications, software designs, and test and commissioning documentation
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills, with a hands-on mentality and precision
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead and guide others in a multidisciplinary team
- Fluency in English
