Your Role
As a Lead Optical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing optical designs tailored to specific sector requirements. Collaborating closely with the System Architect and a multidisciplinary team, your journey will begin with creating an optical layout, leading to the selection of necessary optical components, custom lens design, and the assembly of a functional prototype.
- Developing and designing high-tech optical modules and systems aimed at various markets and applications. • Translating sector-specific requirements into feasible concepts.
- Establishing and conducting feasibility tests for these concepts in our optical labs during the early stages of projects, including final validation of prototypes.
- Generating optical layouts, performing simulations, and designing custom lenses (preferably using Zemax).
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in (Applied) Physics or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in optical design and simulations (with Zemax or similar), ideally for clients in the high-tech systems sector.
- A creative and structured thinker with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in setting up test configurations and aligning optical systems.
- Capable of engaging at a high analytical level, both with colleagues and clients.
- Strong communication and social skills, paired with a pragmatic approach.
- Good command of the English language.
- A structured, accurate, and proactive approach complemented by strong communication abilities.
